Confucious is an inspirational person that I deeply revere. The basis of my lifestyle is greatly based on Confucious's sayings and his views on life. I've decided to show you 10 of my favorite Confucious quotes, and tell you why they're so inspirational.
#10 - "A superior man is modest in his speech, but exceeds in his actions."
There's no need to brag about your actions. You show by doing. And if others do not see it, then your heart knows. That's enough for a person, and it really isn't necessary to boast about things that you have or have not done.
#9 - "Faced with what is right, to leave it undone shows a lack of courage."
Everyone has their own set of moralities and beliefs, but there are times where you see something that should be done. A simple person walks away from the task, but the courageous one is the one who takes up the difficult task of setting things right.
#8 - "What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others."
I don't like people swearing at me, or calling me names, or any other nasty sort of action. So why should I do it to other people? There's no reason to spread more evil, so I simply won't spread more evil. Simple.
#7 - "It is easy to hate and it is difficult to love. This is how the whole scheme of things works. All good things are difficult to achieve; and bad things are very easy to get."
At heart, we all really make the final decision on rather we want to be nice or mean. It's harder to be nice than mean, but what's wrong with taking up a challenge?
#6 - "Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated."
Waking up in the morning, eating, being happy, and returning to sleep at night. Everything else is really just optional.
#5 - "A man who has committed a mistake and doesn't correct it, is committing another mistake."
If you've screwed up once, then it's time to make sure that you don't again. If you don't do anything about it, you're just setting yourself up for another future screw-up.
#4 - "Never hesitate to ask a lesser person."
The point of this quote is not to ask questions to people of lower class, but instead to respect and see perspectives from all angles. There is no shame in doing so, and it is much more wise to seek wisdom from any person than the one who refuses to ask questions.
#3 - "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life."
Find something you truly enjoy doing, and you'll always be content. Take pleasure in the smallest things as well.
#2 - "I am not concerned that I am not known, I seek to be worthy to be known."
People worry a lot about their status in society and if they'll be remembered or not. Like an earlier quote, life is simple. Worrying about such things will just confuse your heart. Besides, by doing good things for people, you will be known and remembered.
